We've been noticing over the past couple of years that the Capital Region has sort of become a choice location for film shoots. Well it looks like some Upstate New York towns just outside of the Capital Region are about to get some of the Hollywood treatment as well!

According to NYup.com the Office's John Krasinski has been scouting locations throughout Upstate New York for a new horror film called "A Quiet Place" that he will be writing, directing, and starring in. The movie is being described as a "Supernatural Thriller" and not only will it be the first time he has directed but it will also be the first film he will star in with his real life wife Emily Blunt!

Early this month John and his crew met with the mayor of Little Falls and spent a day strolling up and down Main Street and visiting the shops. From the way his Facebook post sounds it looks like Little Falls could be a contender.

However, just a couple days ago it was reported that Paramount Pictures (the company funding this production) had signed a contract with the Town of New Paltz "to provide police traffic control for the production, which needs access to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Bridge off Springtown Road." Apparently the bridge is currently closed for repairs but is supposed to be opening back up sometime in September.

This doesn't mean that Little Falls is completely out though because according to the report they will only be filming in New Paltz for a couple of days in October and focusing on the bridge which will apparently play a pivotal role in the movie.

As an added bonus IMDb say that Michael Bay, who is known for several big movies like "Pearl Harbor," "Armageddon" and the "Transformers" series, is tapped to produce the film so this one may turn out to be a BIG one to come out of Upstate New York.

If we hear any thing about casting calls for extras we'll be sure to keep you posted!
