There are thirty-seven acres that are slated to be sold in a prime area along Route 9/Loudon Road in Cohoes. It's a peculiar area because even though Oreshan Farm has been there for years, housing developments around it have been booming. There are plans to build more housing at that farm, but a lawsuit says, "not so fast".
If you travel along Route 9 in Halfmoon, you know that there has been a lot of work being done on the old Romano's restaurant and more recently a meeting place for the NXIVM cult. This was a cult that had headquarters in the Albany area and the heads of NXIVM lived in Halfmoon. It will be a brand new restaurant and we now know when it will open.
As you can tell, the disk is very large spilling over into the two lanes of Route 9 heading north. I guess when you need four troopers to escort you, it's either for safety or national security.
I live in the Town of Halfmoon and I love it. We have so many local restaurants and shops and now a developer is going to make an already popular shopping plaza into something he calls a "walking community".
Let construction season continue. There is a long stretch of Route 9 that will be getting a makeover which means lane closures through Malta and part of Saratoga. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will begin resurfacing that part of the roadway starting today.
