On Valentines Day, a child who is a shooting victim had their wheelchair stolen.

It was reported to police early on Valentines Day that a wheelchair had been stolen from the front of a South Ferry Street residence. The grandmother of an 11-year-old girl Phiona Williams made the call. She said it disappeared at 730am that Thursday morning.

Police have done their investigating and found the culprit who indeed had stolen the little girl's wheelchair. The person had said to Albany P.D. that he believed the wheelchair was left out for trash and he took it. He, later on, would go onto to scrap the wheelchair.

I suppose you could call this a mistake but it still has to be horrible for the victim. The family has decided to not press charges on the man.

If you are looking to help the little girl, you can. Information is here from Times Union.
