New York Giving Away Camping Weekends w/Gear For First Timers

If you have never been camping before, New York's First Time Camper Program wants to set you up with a camping weekend, including camping gear!

There is nothing more relaxing than disconnecting for a weekend in the wilderness. If you have never enjoyed this experience, the state of New York wants to help you out! The state is once again offering it's first time camper program where New York will give you all you need for a weekend camping getaway, according to the Times Union. 

There will be an online lottery for 40 camping slots and first time campers can apply May 10 - 12 and get more info at the New York Department of Environmental Conversation website. The DEC website says they will provided all that is needed for a camping weekend - a site at a great campground, tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, camp chairs, camp stove, lantern, and firewood.
