Situated just an hour north of the state capital, Lake George sits at the base of the Adirondack Mountains. The Lake itself has been voted the most beautiful in the country.

I guess as a lifelong resident of the Capital Region, I find it hard to believe. I want to believe it, but then I think of the town I grew up in. Lake George is far different than Troy. Only 45 minutes north and if feels like you are on a whole different planet.

Maybe that vibe is what made Oyster.com rank it so well. I mean it isn't like they are among the best lakes in the country, but instead the tourist town next to Queensbury is atop the list. Shout out to WNYT for pointing out the accomplishment.
