Although the holidays are usually a time for fun, you shouldn't let your guard down too quickly when it comes to shopping.

The FBI has warned everyone to watch out for different forms of scams this holiday season because unfortunately, when there are a lot of people looking to spend some money, there will always be people who want to try to make a quick buck off of it. Here are a few to be weary of.

Fake Online Stores

It might be a fake online store with some deals that are just too good to be true, or a fake store app that'll try to trick you into downloading it by looking similar to the app of the store you actually wanted. Chances are they'll try and get you to fill out some sort of survey that is actually designed to steal your information.

Social Media Scams

Be cautious while using social media to find gifts too. Social media may make it feel like you're almost one-on-one with another person, but it isn't. Watch out for people trying to steal your information via fake gift cards, scammers who will take your money and bank account information, and watch out for sketchy sites that might install malware right onto your computer to gather your personal data.

Fake Emails

Keep a watch out for fake emails too. Like the fake sites, they could be emails that look like they're from a credible source, but when you open the link inside, you might just be installing more malware.

The holidays are a great time, and you should absolutely have fun, but make sure you do your research before you shop this holiday season.
