Square pizzas, good times, and cold brews! Guilderland will soon be getting in on what Albany residents have known - and loved -  for years. An iconic 100-year-old pizza place/tavern will be getting a second location in a new town.

Albany landmark "The Orchard Tavern" will continue to serve Albany as it has for over 100 years, but according to the Table Hopping blog on the Times Union website, it's owners are taking their famously delicious square pizzas out Route 20 and heading to Guilderland.

According to the report, Orchard Tavern owner Chis Montefore has signed a lease to take over the former Dorato's Restaurant and Pub located in Guilderland's Star Plaza and will open on September 1st.

Montefore told the Times Union, "I wanted to bring the Orchard's name and food to the suburbs," adding, "I think this is the ideal location."

Star Plaza, at 2050 Western Ave., is at the intersection of Western Ave. and Route 155.
