Every time I drive up the Northway past exit 29, I see the old Frontier Town sign and reminisce about that theme park. Well now it's good to know that it has a whole new purpose as the Gateway to the Adirondacks. The project started last year and by this summer it should be completed. According to News 10 ABC, you can now reserve your camping site at New York's new Frontier Town state campground.

There is now a purpose for the old Frontier Town off of exit 29 of the Northway. There will be ninety one camping sites including thirty three campsites for horseback riding, forty five tent sites and an RV area. The entire campground is called the "Gateway to the Adirondacks".

New York state is spending over twenty million dollars to bring the old Frontier Town site back to life. The campground also utilizes the shoreline of the Schroon River. To make your campsite reservations click here.
