You know, Northampton is only about an hour and a half from the Capital Region.

History is about to made as the first recreational marijuana dispensaries east of the Mississippi have been given the go ahead to “commence full operations” this week in Massachusetts. It's been over two years since voters in Mass authorized legal recreational marijuana. Retail sales were supposed to begin in July but better late than never.

Two facilities in Massachusetts that have been operating as medical marijuana dispensaries are set to open to the general public Tuesday morning! According to the Boston Globe Cultivate in  Leicester and  New England Treatment Access, or NETA, in Northampton will open their doors to adults 21-years and older offering legal, safe, regulated cannabis.

Recreational marijuana may not be a thing in NY quite yet but the Capital Region is on the border of Mass so if you are thinking about doing a little day tripping Northampton is only about an hour and a half from Albany while Leicester is a bit further but still not too far with a little over a two hour drive.
