I've said it before. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is one of the nicest and personable ROCK ICONS I've ever met. And working in radio, I've met a lot.

Steven sings HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a 7 year old little girl while on a flight!

The first time I met Steven was the day his ex-wife died and he was running a little late for a concert featuring Kid Rock, Run DMC and Aerosmith.  The rest of the band was backstage and Steven (understandably) was running behind on a very difficult day for him and his family.

His bus pulled up outside the venue as we were being taken back stage, and he and his daughter got off the bus. We all went back together and STEVEN reached out to shake MY hand and made ME feel like the rock star!

He talked with us for about 10-15 minutes (an ETERNITY for stars before a concert) and then posed for pictures with us, before his manager had to almost drag him to his dressing room to get ready for the sold-out show they were about to rock.

On the day his ex-wife died, most performers would probably just cancel their scheduled commitments, but Steven didn't -- and went above and beyond.

While most famous people I've worked with and met have been nice...some can be a little aloof or rather blase (hey, we all have bad days) Steven Tyler ranks in my top 2 or 3 coolest and nicest GLOBALLY famous people I've met.
