As reported by News Channel 13, a new law passed this weekend allows for the removal of guns from abusers in domestic violence cases.  According to News Channel 13, the law was announced with heavy dialogue from Governor Cuomo about the murder rate of women by domestic violence, and a focus on safety in domestic relationships.  You can read more on Governor Cuomo's quotes, and the new law, at News Channel 13.

In a time where gun violence and politics seem to constantly be in the media, I think it's only a matter of time before more of these laws get put in to place.  I'm not saying I do or don't agree with them.  I'm just saying that gun violence is so prevalent in the media, and people are so outspoken, that there has been a trend of recent announcements in New York from a halt on gun exhibitions to policies and laws, and I'm sure this won't be the last.  That being said, no part of me advocates for domestic violence, and I do support safe changes that assist those in situations of violence.  You never know what kind of change or action can save a life.
