Filling up the void that the closure of Mahar's left, a new Albany English-Irish pub will open up on Madison Avenue this week.

Fourty draught lines, cask beers and 60 different bottles of beer - all in one spot. The Madison Pourhouse has announced that its set to open up this week (as soon as Wednesday, January 29th).  The two-story bar will replace the former beer only bar - Mahars, at 1110 Madison Avenue. The Madison Pourhouse is keeping alone those lines, with only planing on selling beer and wine.

The draught beers will be available from 5 - 16 ounces - depending on how thirsty you are, and will be an average of $6. They'll also have a small kitchen on hand serving snacks, including homemade pretzels, deviled eggs, paté, stew and chowders, toasted sandwiches (a.k.a. toasties), among other offerings.
