Dan Raymond, SUCC professor and owner of Zachary’s Pastry Shoppe in East Greenbush, has made it past the first round on Food Network's 'Holiday Baking Championship' for a chance to win $25,000!

If you fancy yourself a bit of fooddie, enjoy baking, or just want to try to learn to cook or bake then you might find yourself switching on the food network from time to time for inspiration.  If you have a bit of a sweet tooth and an affinity for holiday treats well then you may be familiar with the show 'Holiday Baking Challenge'.

Nine bakers put their skills to the test in holiday-themed challenges this Bobby Deen-hosted competition series. The challenges aim to bring the essence of Thanksgiving and Christmas to life through tasks centered around cookies, pies and other desserts.

If the food alone isn't reason enough for you to watch, on this season one of the Capital Region's own is competing for the chance to win the $25,000 prize!

Dan Raymond, SUCC professor and owner of Zachary’s Pastry Shoppe in East Greenbush has already made it past the first episode in the competition but just barely after having a little trouble with his first task but then managed to redeem himself in the main heat with his cheesecake yule log.
