Hope you didn't think you could put that shovel away for the season already. Get ready, more snow is coming ...

Winter storm watches are in full effect for the Capita Region calling for 6 to 18 inches of snow!

The watch goes into effect at 7am tomorrow (Tuesday, January 29th) at 7am and lasts until 7am Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service is expecting the snow to really begin Tuesday afternoon becoming steady around the evening and ending by Wednesday morning. According to the Daily Gazette;

This storm could bring anywhere from 6 to 8 inches of snow to parts of Schenectady, Albany and southern Saratoga counties, and 12 to 18 inches across northern Fulton and Saratoga counties.

It may have taken winter a hot minute to arrive but it looks like Ma Nature isn't going to let us skate by snowless this year. Good thing we live here and should be prepared. If you were one of the Capital Region residents who weren't as prepared for the last storm as you would have like to have been tonight is a good night to ready for the snow.

Also, you may have seen that the Capital Region lost a couple of people while shoveling out of winter storm Harper last week. I know that a foot of snow may not be as much as the almost 2 feet we got last time around but it still may be a lot to some so keep an eye out on your neighbors and look out for each other will ya.

Stay safe Capital Region.
