Nothing makes me happier than seeing a good, local, news story. A story that isn't about our differences and politics, just a nice person doing nice things for the community.

Patrick Buffaline is 9 years old but he's been through a lot already. Buffaline was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and even went through four open heart surgeries before he was 4, according to Spectrum News.

Buffaline said that if it wasn't for the amazing hospitals and nurses in the area, that he wouldn't be able to be the kid his is today, so he decided to give back. Buffaline has decided to deliver handmade hats to every baby born in a hospital locally in February to bring awareness to heart disease.

The campaign is called The Little Hats Big Hearts campaign and Buffaline is hoping each of these little red hats will make people aware that 1 in every 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect.
