The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take over the Empire State Plaza this Saturday, with hundreds of runners gathering to spread awareness of breast cancer and celebrate survivors.

Here are three reasons you should come out to the race, whether you're running, cheering someone on, or just supporting the cause.

You Can Help Make A Difference

The purpose of the Race for the Cure is to raise money for local breast cancer health, education, screening and treatment, and 75 percent of the proceeds raised Saturday will go toward those causes. The remaining money supports the Susan G. Komen Grants Program.
